A Farewell!

Everyone has 24 hours in a day. It is important, how we utilize our time. We should have enough time for every activity whether it is for socializing, reading, cooking, eating, sleeping, working, travelling, time for your own self and more important time for your near and dear ones.

In this busy modern world, we have been ignoring and forgetting lot of important things. One of important thing is meeting / spending time with your near and dear ones. Those were the days when we used write letters, catch up with friends and relatives very often, play loads of outdoor games, watch movies with family at home, have dinner together and many more things TOGETHER.
Last week I went to the 'Baarwi' (as we call the 12th day after the death a Hindu) of a relative  wherein other relatives and friends are called to pay tribute and have 'prasad' . I saw lots of relatives and friends gathered known and unknown. I wondered whether these folks really had spent a quality time with the person who passed away. Anyway people gathered to grieve and console the family.
Some customs and traditions are so confusing and out of logic. Still we are social animal and live in a society. Always spend time with your near and dear ones. You may not know whether you will get to meet the person again. Never miss an opportunity to be with your family.
Kabhi Alvida Nah Kehna!

God sent Messenger!

We all know how difficult it is to commute in Mumbai whether it is by road, rail or foot. We all have faced the brunt of Adamant Auto wallas of Mumbai day in and day out in our lives. At peak hours, it seems as if they vanish or their autos are out of fuel or are ready with any  other excuse.

My husband and I had once gone to meet one of our aunt who stays at Evershine Nagar, Malad (West) near one of the busiest traffic signal. It was around 9.00 p.m. in night. We were waiting near the T-Junction of the signal for our turn to cross the road. The signal lights got green and the motorist in front of us started honking at someone and shouted at him to move aside.  We were wondering what was happening as people have got habit of honking without any reason. In the darkness of night, we saw one 80+ year old uncle with very bleak eyesight and feeble to be able to walk properly. He was struggling to get an auto and was coming on the middle of road to find one.  He kept on asking each & every auto but all in vain. Seeing all this we stopped and asked this uncle what happened and where he wants to go. He said, “I want to go to Ramchandra Nagar”. We having very little idea of the areas in and around Malad asked him to board our car.

We told him to give us the directions so that we can drop him to his place. He said that he was struggling to find an auto since one hour but no one had agreed to come along being a short distance.  His house was 2.5 km away from the signal which was on opposite side of the way we wanted to go. Since, he cannot see in the dark properly, he is not able walk through his way and was looking for an auto. We told him that not to worry and we had no issue to drop him wherever he wants to.

Throughout the journey from the pickup point to his house he kept on saying “God has sent Angels or have I done some good deed in my life that God sent you both”. He also discussed about Mahim Church viz. St. Michael's Church and asked us to visit the church especially on Wednesday.
Finally, we dropped him to his place safe and sound. He said, “God bless you both!  ” Rather we would say "God sent Messenger!".
